Alaska Hunting Season Preview

It’s hard to believe, but the end of July is within sight and before we know it, we will be trailering up the horses and heading north to Alaska for the start of our hunting expeditions there! The Alaska hunting season is always one of the highlights of the year for us. And this year, conditions should be excellent.

Our area in the Alaska Range is producing some of the biggest bull moose anywhere in the world right now. It’s hard to think of a better time or place that we’d rather be hunting these magnificent animals. If you haven’t experienced the thrill of hunting moose, deep in the wilderness of Alaska, it’s something every big game hunter should have on their bucket list. It’s truly a “last frontier” experience.

Our area is also producing really healthy numbers of quality Dall sheep rams. We took some excellent rams last season and the crop of upcoming rams is creating some excitement for this season and beyond. It’s some of the best sheep hunting we’ve seen in years and we look forward to getting started this season!

Our unique approach to Alaska hunting has served us well. We rely on extremely high quality horses and mules to access some of the most remote and game-rich country in the Alaska Range. We pride ourselves on being Alaska’s finest horseback operation. Our guests fly in to camp by plane and then strike out on horseback to areas that would otherwise be very difficult to reach.

Please also know that in addition to our guided Alaska hunts for moose, dall sheep and grizzly, we also offer a fully outfitted but unguided camp option for moose. This is a great option for those experienced hunters who feel comfortable hunting on their own in Alaska, but without the hassle and logistics of setting a camp and hauling all the necessary equipment.
